Bolts above grade 8.8, including grade 8.8, are generally made of low-carbon alloy steel or medium-carbon steel, and the main processing technology is quenching and tempering. Therefore, these bolts are also collectively referred to as high-strength bolts. Bolts below grade 8.8 are ordinary bolts.
